Unilever is migrating to Google Cloud to unlock better AI capabilities – just three years after it completed its 'cloud-only' migration with Azure.

The $59-billion consumer goods company said the five-year deal with GCP will see it move its entire “integrated data and cloud platform” onto Google’s cloud infrastructure and tap its Vertex AI managed platform.

One source told The Stack that the company that GCP had won a “takeout job” and that the vast majority of 2023 workloads Unilever had teed up for Azure were now coming to GCP, saying “they will still, for now, use O365.”
